How do you use an Adventure Belt?

The child wears the smaller belt with the pouch, while the adult wears the bigger belt and adjusts the connecting lead to suit the circumstances.  If you are in a busy place, you'd probably want to keep it short. If it's a safer environment you might want to lengthen it or remove it, leaving the belts on. As such the Adventure Belt is very versatile.

From what age are Adventure Belts suitable?

Adventure Belts are suitable for stable walkers up to the weight of 27kg.

What size adult will the belt fit?

The adult belt is adjustable between 75cm and 150cm, and can be worn on the waist or on the hip.

Will the belt fit a slim child?

The child belt adjusts between 46cm at its smallest and 75cm at its largest. The Adventure Belt is designed to fit a 2 year old in a t-shirt, and an 8 year old in a coat.

How far does the bungee stretch?

At its longest adjusted length the bungee stretches to around 1.5 meters. At it's shortest adjusted length the bungee stretches to around 80cm. The cord itself is made from a 80cm length of elasticated webbing.

Can a child open the belt?

The connections are child-safe, requiring a double action which is easy for an adult but not for a child.

Is the pouch detachable?

Yes the pouch can be easily removed if preferred.

What are the pouch dimensions?

The pouch measures approx. 10cm high x 10.5cm wide.

Can you use them for Multiples?

Adventure Belts are ideal for parents of multiples. By wearing two belts on the adult, all children can be safely supervised.

Is the Adventure Belt suitable for children with additional support needs?

For parents of children with additional needs, time spent out and about can be stressful; particularly if a child is prone to accidental wandering or prefers not to be touched. The Adventure Belt gives parents peace of mind, knowing that their child is safe, whilst allowing the child independence and a freedom to explore.  The system can be used to children weighing up to 27kg (approximately age 8) and is easily adjustable.

Are these fully safety tested?

Adventure Belts comply with EN71:1-3 and relevant parts of EN31210. They have been tested in an independent UK laboratory.

Where are they made?

The Adventure Belt was designed in Scotland by a mum and is made by a carefully selected factory in China.

Care instructions

Adventure Belts can be cleaned by handwashing in cool water.  Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
